Murthal The Food City of India

Murthal is an ancient village with a rich cultural and agricultural heritage. Historical records suggest that the area has existed for centuries as a farming settlement in the fertile plains of Haryana. The name Murthal (also called Morthal) is traditionally believed to mean "Peacock's Abode." According to local tradition, a Rajput named Malhan named the village after being impressed by the large number of peacocks found in the area. While this story is widely shared locally, there is no definitive historical evidence identifying a single founder of Murthal.
